Heart Health Preventing Heart Problems

Angina increases your risk of having a heart attack.

The most common cause of angina is coronary artery disease which develops when a hard, thick substance called plaque builds up in the coronary arteries and as a result blocks blood flow to the heart. If untreated, there is a risk for complete blockage which can totally stop blood flow through the arteries resulting in a heart attack.
